Ensaf Dress

Vendor Biography

My name is Zahra Yousufi, and I am the founder and director of Ensaf Dress, a sewing and handicrafts production workshop based in Herat, Afghanistan. I have over 18 years of experience in women’s tailoring, design, ribbon embroidery, beadwork, and handmade jewelry. From the very beginning, I started this work informally out of personal interest and to support my family’s economy, and for the past four years, I have been running it officially.

At Ensaf Dress, we produce a wide range of women’s clothing, including party dresses, traditional Afghan designs, Afghan Gand, coats, hijabs, and children’s clothing. I also work in the handicrafts sector, including ribbon embroidery, beadwork, and handmade jewelry such as crowns, headpieces, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.

In addition to production, I provide training programs in tailoring and handicrafts for girls and women to help them gain skills and achieve economic independence. Currently, eight skilled women work directly with me.

Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I have faced many challenges, but none have stopped my progress. Today, I am proud that Ensaf Dress has become a trusted and recognized brand.

Some of the key achievements of my workshop include:

Establishing the Ensaf Dress brand as reliable and reputable

Opening two sales centers in Almas Sharq and Parsaaj Marble

Participating in national and international exhibitions, including the Afghan Lapis Lazuli Exhibition, Afghan Excellence Exhibition, Imam Abu Hanifa Exhibition, and Khadijah Al-Kubra Eid Bazaar, among others

Attending seminars on management, marketing, technical skills, and finance

My goal is to support the economy of my family and country, prevent the entry of low-quality imported products, and encourage Afghan women to start their own businesses. I firmly believe that Afghan women, with their talent, skill, and perseverance, can achieve an important position in both society and the economy.
