I am Abeda Alizai, the Founder and President of Angusht Tala Manufacturing Company in Herat Province. I have been working in the field of tailoring and fashion design for fifteen years. I learned tailoring in Afghanistan and later mastered pattern making and professional sewing in Iran, from zero to an expert level.
I strongly believe that a founder can only succeed when they fully master their profession. With my deep experience and continued dedication in this industry, I started my journey with just one sewing machine and today, more than forty Afghan women are working beside me in this company.
At Angusht Tala, we produce a wide range of clothing according to the season and market needs. Our products include winter jumpers and coats, evening dresses, traditional Afghan outfits, suits, spring coats, and uniforms for hospitals. However, our main specialty and core product is the production of traditional Afghan “Gand” designs.
I currently live with my mother and two children. I completed high school and studied one year in the field of Economics. I am also a professional sewing trainer and have been teaching tailoring and pattern-making skills to other women for many years.
My goal is to make Angusht Tala an international brand. Today, our work meets global standards, but my vision is to establish sales branches in countries with large Afghan communities such as Germany, Iran, and others, so that Afghan women’s handmade fashion can enter global markets and gain the recognition it deserves.
