I am Najia Mohammadi, a young woman from Bamyan, the land of the Buddhas, a place rich in history, culture, and heritage. It is where my roots lie and where my dreams began. After graduating from Grade 12, I hoped to continue my education and take further steps toward building a better future. Unfortunately, due to the closure of schools, I was unable to continue my formal education. However, I refused to let this obstacle become the end of my dreams. I believe that learning, growth, and progress are not limited to classrooms and universities. Determination, hard work, and the courage to create opportunities can also open new doors to a brighter future.
With a strong interest in business and entrepreneurship, I decided to take a new path. In late 2025, I started my business in traditional clothing and handicrafts with an initial investment of only 10,000 Afghanis. This small beginning reflected my belief in my abilities and my hope for a better future. Today, I continue to work with dedication and motivation to grow my business and create more opportunities for myself and others.
However, my goal is not simply to achieve personal success or earn an income for myself. My greatest dream is to create employment and income-generating opportunities for more women in Bamyan. I want women who have artistic talents, valuable skills, and creative abilities to turn their talents into sources of income, achieve financial independence, and make decisions about their futures with greater confidence and hope.
I also aspire to introduce Afghanistan’s traditional clothing and handicrafts to local and international markets. I believe that the creativity and craftsmanship of Afghan women deserve to be recognized, supported, and valued. My vision is to build a bridge between the talents of women in Bamyan and markets that can provide them with new opportunities.
I understand that this journey will not be easy and that I will face many challenges along the way. Nevertheless, I believe that difficult circumstances should never be the end of a person’s dreams. Sometimes, when one door closes, we must find the courage to build another. I am committed to making the most of the opportunities available to me, learning new skills, and taking steady steps toward my goals.
I am Najia Mohammadi, a young woman from Bamyan who started with just 10,000 Afghanis, but whose dream is much bigger than building a business for herself. I hope to reach a point where my success is not measured only by my income, but also by the number of women who gain access to employment, income, and financial independence through the opportunities my business creates.
To me, true success means creating opportunities for others while continuing to grow myself. I believe that a society where women have greater financial independence and access to opportunities can build a brighter, stronger, and more sustainable future.
My dream is not simply to build a business. My dream is to create opportunities, inspire hope, and help build a future where more women can stand on their own feet, support themselves, and shape their own lives.
