Helen Tailoring and Education Center

    Vendor Biography

Helen Tailoring and Training Center was established in 2021 in Herat Province, Afghanistan, by Ms. Gul Afrooz Froten Rajabi. The center aims to provide professional skills training, produce handmade products, and create income-generating opportunities for women and girls.

In addition to tailoring training, the center has an artistic rug-weaving section that produces handmade decorative frames featuring a variety of designs, including minarets, human figures, clocks, and other artistic patterns. These handmade products reflect local creativity and craftsmanship and have potential for promotion and sale through social media and online marketplaces.

The center offers tailoring and practical skills training, English language classes, Quran education, literacy classes, and creative learning activities. Its programs aim to help women and girls develop practical skills, access employment opportunities, and achieve greater economic independence. The artistic rug-weaving section currently employs four staff members who contribute to the production of handmade decorative frames.

Helen Tailoring and Training Center seeks to expand its educational and production activities, increase the production of handmade artistic items, improve product promotion through social media, and develop online sales. Through these efforts, the center aims to create more employment opportunities for women and girls, particularly widows, women without family support, orphaned girls, and those who have been unable to continue their education because of financial difficulties.
