My name is Bibi Zainab Dorrani Turkmen, and I am from Mazar-e-Sharif province. I am married and live in a family of nine members.
Although I do not have formal education, I have gained more than 25 years of work experience and have always been committed to learning and creating opportunities for others.
In 2022, I started my business because many young girls were confined to their homes, and widowed and underprivileged women had no source of income. To support them, I provided carpets so they could work from their homes, learn skills, and earn an income to sustain their families.
Currently, my workshop runs in two shifts of training, with 20 students in each shift — a total of 40 students. In addition, there are 12 carpet-weaving apprentices actively learning the craft.
My vision is to expand my activities further so that I can help more underprivileged women and girls, providing them with greater opportunities to learn, work, and achieve financial independence for a better life.
